The message reads, in part:

“Water transport has always played a considerable role in our national history, the establishment of a single economic space and the development of the social sector. Many generations of your predecessors – sea and river fleet workers – did their best and persistently pursued the country’s goals.

Today, owing to your high professionalism and commitment to the traditions of veterans, the industry is developing and confidently gaining momentum. Its passenger and freight traffic volumes are increasing, and coastal logistics facilities are being upgraded. Primary attention is paid to ensuring the safety of navigation, the introduction of innovative technology and competent managerial solutions, and the improvement of the quality of the services rendered.

You have serious, ambitious goals ahead – to organise water transport in the new regions of Russia, develop promising partnerships, build international trade corridors and create popular tourist routes.”
