Vladimir Putin congratulated Russian Railways employees and veterans on the company’s 20th anniversary.
The message reads, in part:
“The establishment of Russian Railways became an important, milestone event for the railway sector and the entire national economy. It increased the efficiency of the strategically important industry for our country, and preserved its powerful human and technological resources.
Today your company demonstrates important results relying on experience and strong traditions. The company implements large-scale modernisation of the railway network, rolling stock and railway stations, introduces convenient services and improves the quality of passenger and cargo transportation. Of course, Russian Railways takes an active part in the implementation of Russia’s top-priority transport projects, such as the extension of the Eastern Division and other routes, modernisation of the Murmansk transport hub, restoration of railway infrastructure in the new Russian regions, and development of high-speed railway lines.”
