Agreement on customs cooperation between the Customs Union member states within the EurAsEC framework has been submitted to the State Duma for ratification

August 27, 2012

Vladimir Putin submitted to the State Duma for ratification the draft Federal Law On Ratification of the Agreement on Cooperation and Mutual Assistance within the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC) Framework in Customs Issues Involving the Activities of the Customs Union Member States’ Customs Services Representative Offices.

The Agreement was signed in Moscow on June 22, 2011.

The Agreement will ensure cooperation through the EurAsEC framework between customs services on the customs territory of the Customs Union and regulate the presence and cooperation of officials representing the Customs Union members’ customs services.

Under the Agreement’s terms, the Customs Union members will establish representative offices of their customs services on each other’s soil, which will monitor compliance with Customs Union legislation, analyse data on trade flows crossing the Customs Union border, exchange information and experience between customs services, and carry out other tasks.
