April 9, 2013, Novo-Ogaryovo, Moscow Region

Mr Belyaninov briefed the President on the results of the Service’s work in 2012 and in the first three months of 2013.

Mr Belyaninov reported that 50 percent of imports currently consist of engineering products, equipment and means of transport, which serves as evidence of the serious re-equipment and technical outfitting of the Russian economy. As for exports, they grew by 3 percent in 2012 as compared to 2011.

Vladimir Putin and Andrei Belyaninov also discussed ways to organise the customs’ work and plans for the Service’s technical re-equipment.

On the President’s request, Mr Belyaninov reported on the results of his visit to Kyrgyzstan as a co-chair of the Russian-Kyrgyzstani Intergovernmental Commission. He explained that a package of documents has been drafted for the Commission’s April 22 session in Moscow, including ones addressing the construction of energy facilities in Kyrgyzstan. According to Andrei Belyaninov, Kyrgyzstan is advancing towards its entry into the Customs Union.
