Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law On Amendments to Article 9 of the Law On the Russian Federation State Border and Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation.
The federal law regulates multiple Russian Federation state border crossings by ships engaged in maritime trade and sailing from one part of Russia to another. The need for multiple state border crossings arises from the geographical and climatic particularities of some of Russia’s regions.
The relevant amendments have been made to the Federal Law On Procedures for Entering and Exiting the Russian Federation.
Additions have also been made to Article 141 of the Federal Law On the Russian Federation’s Internal Waterways, Territorial Waters and Adjacent Zone, in accordance with which foreign pleasure and sports sailboats, once they have gone through border, customs and other procedures at Russian Federation state border checkpoints, can sail and stopover in internal waterways and in territorial waters lying beyond the state border checkpoints.
