Vladimir Putin signed a list of instructions that will facilitate implementation in Russia of the 1975 Convention on International Transport of Goods Under Cover of TIR Carnets.
The Government was instructed to ensure uninterrupted implementation of the TIR Convention and the Agreement with the Association of International Road Carriers (ASMAP) throughout Russian territory, pending the establishment of a national guarantee association and conclusion of the relevant agreements with it.
The Government was also instructed to ensure cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Commission, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Armenia to reach agreements on establishing a common transit system within the Customs Union and common guarantee mechanisms for goods in transit.
