Dmitry Medvedev signed Federal Law On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation in Connection with the Transfer of Certain State Control Functions to the Customs Authorities of the Russian Federation.
The law grants the customs authorities the right to implement full transport control at checkpoints on the state border of the Russian Federation, and the powers to inspect documents for the implementation of other types of state control, in addition to customs control, at special checkpoints.
The Federal Law is aimed at accelerating the passage of goods and vehicles across the state border of the Russian Federation and reducing the number of state control authorities at border checkpoints.
