Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law On Amendments to Federal Law On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation.
The federal law is aimed at improving the immigration legislation of the Russian Federation with regard to the legal regulation of employment of foreign citizens and stateless persons in Russia.
The amendments change the procedures for obtaining permits to hire foreign workers.
The federal law authorises employers and clients ordering work (services) to hire foreign workers residing in Russia temporarily without a permit to hire foreign workers. At the same time, this category of foreign nationals shall have the right to carry out work without a work permit.
