Vladimir Putin signed the Federal Law On Amendments to Particular Russian Federation Laws and Statutes.
The federal law makes amendments to the federal laws On Procedures for Entering and Exiting the Russian Federation, On Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances, and On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation. The amendments aim to prevent illegal immigration of foreign citizens and stateless persons, and strengthen law and order and national security.
The amendments make it possible in specific cases to restrict a foreign citizen’s right to enter the Russian Federation.
The federal law will help to reduce the number of foreign citizens entering Russia with the aim of carrying out illegal activity in the country.
