Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law On Amendments to Federal Law On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation.
The Federal Law is designed to improve legislation regulating migration in the Russian Federation regarding the introduction of mandatory documents proving the knowledge of the Russian language, history and basic legislation of the Russian Federation for citizens of other countries applying for temporary or permanent residence permit, work permits or patents, except for highly qualified experts.
This Federal Law amends the Federal Law On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation and introduces the procedure for proving the knowledge by foreign citizens of the Russian language, the history of Russia and the basic legislation of the Russian Federation.
