The President signed the Federal Law On Amending Article 16 of the Federal Law On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation.
The Federal Law places responsibility on the inviting party to take measures to ensure that an invited foreign citizen adheres to the terms of their stay (residence) in the Russian Federation with respect to the declared goal of the visit. Under the Law, the inviting party is also responsible for ensuring the timely departure of the invited foreign citizen from the Russian Federation upon the expiry of the established term of the visa. The list and order of said measures shall be established by the Government of the Russian Federation.
