The President signed Federal Law On Amendments to Articles 21 and 37 of the Federal Law On Citizenship of the Russian Federation.
Under the Federal Law, individuals aged 14 and above must take the Oath of a Citizen of the Russian Federation when acquiring citizenship pursuant to an international treaty of the Russian Federation, or as a result of being granted citizenship or opting for it.
Furthermore, the Federal Law clarifies the circumstances when failure to take the Oath of a Citizen of the Russian Federation renders the decision to grant Russian citizenship void.
