Vladimir Putin signed Executive Order On Preparations for the Russian Federation’s Presidency of the G8 in 2014.
As part of the preparations for Russia’s presidency of the G8 in 2014, the President set Sochi as the venue for holding the G8 summit and related events.
Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov has been appointed chairman of the Organisation Committee that will oversee the preparations for Russia’s G8 presidency. Mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin has been released from these duties.
The Executive Order also approves the Organisation Committee’s membership.
