Vladimir Putin congratulated Interior Ministry employees and veterans on the professional holiday, Interior Ministry Personnel Day.
The message reads, in part:
“This holiday is widely celebrated in our country. It is the time when we pay tribute to the Interior Ministry’s veterans and bow our heads before their courage, steadfastness and loyal sense of duty. It is the day when we honour those who today continue the glorious traditions set by many past generations, serve honourably and risk their lives for our country and people.
The Interior Ministry’s personnel have always faced particularly high demands. It is they who must protect people’s peaceful life and tranquillity, and fight violations of law and order. This is a difficult and highly responsible mission that calls for professionalism and competence, as well as a flawless personal character.
I am sure that you will continue to effectively resolve the tasks before you, stand firmly at the defence of citizens’ lawful rights and interests and uphold your uniform’s honour.”
