Vladimir Putin sent a message of greetings to the participants, organisers and guests of the patriotic concert Thank You for Your Loyalty, Descendants timed to Victory Day.
The message reads, in part:
“This sacred holiday has been forever enshrined in the history of our country, of each family and each person. The memory of unparalleled feat of our people unites all generations of Russians, helps them to stand up to any ordeals, and inspires them to strive for new accomplishments.
War veterans, members of volunteer and search organisations have gathered here today at the State Kremlin Palace. Naturally, their numbers also include those who will soon march along the streets of cities and towns in the columns of the legendary Immortal Regiment.
I am confident that such powerful initiatives as yours are very important. They come from the bottom of the heart, serve the patriotic education of the youth, helping young men and women adopt an active civil stance in life and responsibility for the future of their homeland.”
