The summit’s agenda includes current global economic development issues, the current situation in international trade, prospects for reforming the global financial architecture, possibilities for investment in the real sector of the economy, and job creation. Global climate change will be another subject of discussion, and separate attention will go to the issues of fighting terrorism and assisting refugees.
In keeping with tradition, the BRICS countries’ leaders will meet in the run-up to the summit. The five leaders will coordinate their positions on key issues on the G20 agenda and exchange views on the work to carry out the Russian BRICS presidency’s priorities for the group and implement decisions reached at the BRICS summit in Ufa in July.
Mr Putin will also have a number of bilateral meetings with leaders of G20 countries.
