Vladimir Putin signed the Federal Law On Amendments to the Federal Law On the Procedure for Exiting and Entering the Russian Federation and Revocation of Certain Legislative Actsof the Russian Federation.
The Federal Law provides for the introduction of unified electronic single entry visas to the Russian Federation and a short-term stay in the country (not exceeding 16 days) for foreign nationals for the purposes of tourism, business, private visits or humanitarian purposes effective January 1, 2021. The list of countries whose citizens are eligible for a unified single-entry electronic visa and the border-crossing points of entry to and exit from the Russian Federation are designated by the Government of the Russian Federation.
The Federal Law sets out the terms of registration and validity of the unified electronic visa, as well as the information contained in it.
The procedure for issuing a unified electronic visa is established by the Government of the Russian Federation.
