The message reads, in part:

“It is gratifying that in recent years tourism has been developing dynamically in our country, emerging as an important factor in enhancing the economic and infrastructure potential of cities and entire regions. It plays a crucial role in addressing issues in medicine and education, environmental protection and young people’s education, and preserving cultural and historical heritage. Moreover, the tourism industry opens up new opportunities for creating new jobs and fosters growth in related sectors such as retail trade, agriculture, digital technologies, construction, catering and souvenir production.

I am delighted to acknowledge the positive impact of the Russian Union of Travel Industry, which brings together about 3,000 organisations across various regions of the Russian Federation – travel agencies and health resorts, transport, insurance and consulting companies, and specialised educational institutions. Importantly, your efforts are aimed at consolidating the professional community around common tasks and goals, establishing a modern, civilised tourism market in Russia, improving service quality and competitiveness, and training qualified personnel.”
