Vladimir Putin held a working meeting with Tver Region Governor Igor Rudenya at the Kremlin.
Igor Rudenya briefed the President on the Tver Region’s economic performance in 2024. The Governor said that gross regional product increased by 800 billion rubles, in part due to import substitution and economic development throughout the country. He reported that the products manufactured in the region earned it 740 billion rubles, which is nearly double the 2017 result. Growth was registered in the manufacturing industry, including electronic equipment, transport machinery, electric appliances and agriculture. Major investments have been made in the food industry. The investment focus is on creating new jobs, occupational guidance and technical education for young people.
The Governor updated the President on the development of the Bolshoye Zavidovo resort cluster, where three hotels are set to open soon, including two four-star hotels and one three-star hotel with 1,400 rooms. The investors who are working in the Tver Region plan to open a network of hotels in Sochi and the Far East. There are also plans to build a waterpark, to be co-financed by Vnesheconombank and the Agranta group of large companies in the hotel business. It will be a family recreation centre located in a transport access zone, which includes the M-10 and M-11 motorways and a rail line running from the Oktyabrskaya Railway. The construction of these facilities is to be finished in the summer of 2025.
Igor Rudenya also pointed out that these facilities will need personnel and asked the President to help build a new campus for the Russian State University of Tourism and Service. The region expects the number of tourists to grow to 1 million a year from the current 600,000.
The President asked to see the relevant documents. Speaking about personnel, he asked the Governor to focus on providing the necessary personnel to the rural health posts.
