The President signed Federal Law On Amendments to Federal Law of the Russian Federation On Space Activities.
The Federal Law envisages establishing a federal database for storing Earth remote sensing data. The document also determines the designation and contents of the database and sets forth general provisions for providing its data and their copies.
The Federal Law also specifies the powers of the Russian Government and the State Corporation for Space Activities Roscosmos to establish and update the federal database and the procedure for its interaction with other government databases.
The federal database is being created to provide for the effective use of remote sensing data.
