Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law On Ratification of the Agreement on the Principles of Tax Policy with Respect to Excise Duties on Tobacco Products in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) Member States.
The agreement was signed in St Petersburg on December 18, 2019.
The agreement is aimed at creating favourable conditions for tobacco market operations across the Eurasian Economic Union by harmonising (aligning) the excise tax rates on tobacco products sold in each of the member states, and sets out the procedure for harmonising (aligning) excise tax rates on cigarettes.
