Mr Putin will visit Brussels on January 28 to take part in the 32nd Russia-European Union summit.
The summit will examine key issues on the bilateral agenda, focusing particularly on trade and economic cooperation and the prospects for introducing visa-free travel for short visits by Russian and EU citizens, energy sector cooperation and activating negotiations on a new basic agreement.
Ways for strengthening the strategic partnership between Russia and the EU and possibilities for interlinking the Eurasian and European integration processes will also be on the agenda.
Current international affairs, including the Iranian nuclear programme and the situation in Syria, taking into account the results of the Geneva-2 conference, are also expected to be discussed at the summit.
