Dmitry Medvedev sent his greetings to participants of the 15th European Conference of Ministers Responsible for Spatial/Regional Planning (CEMAT) of the Council of Europe.
The message reads, in part:
“I am glad to welcome you to Moscow and congratulate you on the 40th anniversary of CEMAT.
This conference concludes Russia’s three-year CEMAT chairmanship. Our country is undergoing the process of comprehensive modernisation based on the values of democracy and maximum realisation of human potential. Without a doubt, all of this is consistent with the Council of Europe’s objectives and helps resolve important tasks such as forming a common economic space and ensuring freedom of travel for our citizens.
I expect that during this meeting you will have substantive discussions on key issues of further integration of European nations and will share advanced experiences in developing territories and enlarging interregional trade and industrial cooperation. The recommendations that you develop will be applied in practice, serving to enhance people’s quality of life.
I wish you a fruitful dialogue, success in your activities and all the very best.”
