Dmitry Medvedev sent greetings to participants in the Russian-Polish Congress of Scientific and Cultural Community and Media.
The telegram reads, in part:
“I am certain that this congress will help deepen trust and mutual understanding between our people, open new opportunities for developing friendly contacts between citizens and implement cultural and scientific initiatives.
One such landmark initiative is the creation of centres for dialogue and agreement within our nations, aimed at broadening cooperation in the fields of history, culture and education. I am pleased to note that this project, whose idea was suggested by President of Poland Bronislaw Komorowski and me, will be presented during the congress.
It is symbolic that your meeting is being held just ahead of Poland’s upcoming Presidency of the European Union. I hope that the work of the congress will make a significant impact into further building up diverse ties between Russia and the European Union – first and foremost within the framework of the joint Partnership for Modernisation programme.”
The first Russian-Polish Congress of Scientific and Cultural Community and Media is being held in Warsaw, Poland on June 23–25, 2011.
