Agreement on cooperation between the CSTO member states on production and disposal of military goods sent to State Duma for ratification

March 21, 2012

Dmitry Medvedev submitted to the State Duma for ratification the Agreement on Cooperation between the Collective Security Treaty Organisation Member States on Development, Production, Operation, Maintenance, Modernisation, Service-life Extension and Disposal of Military Goods, signed in Moscow on December 10, 2010.

The Agreement defines the areas, procedures and conditions for cooperation between the Collective Security Treaty Organisation member states on development, production, operation, maintenance, modernisation, service-life extension and disposal of military goods.

In accordance with the Agreement, military goods will be supplied under contracts on the basis of approved bilateral specifications providing details about customers and military goods’ suppliers (from among the recognised participants in military-economic cooperation), and also listing the goods and their volumes.

The mechanisms for drawing up the lists and supplying military goods will be agreed upon between the parties' authorised bodies.

Under the Agreement, military goods will cross the parties’ customs borders in accordance with the national legislation of each individual country.
