Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law On Ratification of the Agreement on the Status of Units of Forces and Resources of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation’s Collective Security System.
The Agreement was signed in Moscow on December 10, 2010, by all CSTO member states, except for the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The Agreement was signed in connection with the establishment of the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Force and the inclusion in the collective security system, along with military units, of special units of internal affairs agencies (the police), internal forces, security agencies and special services, as well as emergency situations and disaster relief agencies, and civilian personnel of CSTO member states.
The Agreement aims to improve the mechanisms for using the CSTO collective security system and its forces, maintain a high level of combat readiness in the system, ensure an adequate response to international security threats and challenges, and lay the legal foundation for temporary deployment of the system’s forces and resources on the territory of its member states.
