After the CSTO and Supreme Eurasian Economic Council summits, Vladimir Putin and the presidents of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan visited the National Defence Control Centre.
Accompanying the heads of state were Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu.
The CSTO member-states’ leaders visited several sections of the National Centre and heard reports from the officers on duty from various military districts and forces.
The National Defence Control Centre became operational on December 1. All relevant streams of information are brought together here, which makes it possible to see what is happening throughout the Armed Forces in real time – up to any military unit and Defence Ministry department facility. The Centre’s IT complex can model critical situations not only near the borders of the Russian Federation, but anywhere in the world.
