Vladimir Putin sent to the State Duma for ratification the Agreement on Organising Air Defence Operations in the Commonwealth of Independent States Member Countries in the Event of Aircraft Hijackings.
The Agreement was signed in Dushanbe on September 3, 2011 and aims to ensure airspace security, prevent terrorism, and establish a common set of procedures for member countries’ air defence duty units to respond in the event of aircraft hijackings.
