The Agreement on procedures for establishing joint investigation and operations groups on the territory of CIS member states has been submitted to the State Duma for ratification

November 18, 2016

Vladimir Putin submitted to the State Duma for ratification the Agreement on Procedures for the Establishment and Activity of Joint Investigation and Operations Groups on the Territory of Commonwealth of Independent States Member States, signed in Burabay, Republic of Kazakhstan, on October 16, 2015.

The Agreement regulates relations between the CIS member countries regarding the establishment and activity of joint investigation and operations groups on CIS member states’ territory to solve and investigate linked criminal cases.

Under the Agreement’s terms, the parties provide each other with legal assistance on criminal cases through the establishment and activity of joint investigation and operations groups.

The Agreement respects the provisions of the Agreement on the Eurasian Economic Union of May 29, 2014, and does not contradict the Russian Federation’s other international agreements.
