Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the participants of the 20th anniversary meeting of heads of security agencies and intelligence services of the Commonwealth of Independent States member states.
The message reads, in part:
“All these years, your meetings in this representative format have been providing a venue for discussing pressing and crucial professional matters, jointly working out solutions aimed at protecting our respective countries from internal and external threats, and building new forms and mechanisms for the intelligence service interaction that fully meet the challenges of our time.
Today, considering challenging geopolitical circumstances, your constructive cooperation is particularly important. It is imperative to prevent the destabilisation of the situation in the CIS and the neighbouring regions alike. For this purpose, as before, it is important to identify negative developments of any kind, as well as potential threats to collective security, to anticipate the course these developments may take, and to exchange information and professional experience.
I am convinced that this Meeting will be a significant phase in deepening our partnership for the benefit of our countries and peoples, and will help strengthen peace and security within the Commonwealth.”
