The President signed executive orders on presenting state decorations to space industry employees and veterans. Cosmonauts Oleg Skripochka, Mikhail Korniyenko and Alexander Skvortsov have been awarded the title of Hero of Russia.
In addition, a number of foreign nationals received the Medal for Merits in Space Exploration for their great contribution to the development of international cooperation in manned space flight.
Among those decorated were cosmonauts and astronauts from Afghanistan, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, the Czech Republic, Cuba, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Japan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Syria, the United Kingdom, the United States and Vietnam.
