Vladimir Putin met with army general Makhmut Gareev to wish him a Happy 90th Birthday.
During the meeting, the President presented the Order for Services to the Fatherland 3rd Class to Mr Gareev.
Makhmut Gareev is a famous Russian military commander who began his military career at the age of 19, participating in the liberation battles in Belarus and Poland, as well as the Far East. Today, Mr Gareev is engaged in community service and scholarly endeavours.
