Vladimir Putin congratulated Marshal of the USSR Dmitry Yazov on his 90th birthday, marked on November 8.
The President awarded Dmitry Yazov the Order of Alexander Nevsky for his contribution to strengthening the nation’s defence capability and promoting patriotic values among the younger generation.
Vladimir Putin thanked Dmitry Yazov for his efforts, noting he was proud to be with him on this special day. The President expressed hope that Marshal Yazov will continue his work to support the Russian armed forces and young servicemen.
Dmitry Yazov is a Marshal of the Soviet Union, former Defence Minister (1987–1991) and veteran of the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945.
