Executive order on issues concerning awards to Armed Forces personnel

Vladimir Putin signed the Executive Order On Certain Issues of Awarding Armed Forces Personnel.

The Executive Order was signed to rapidly resolve issues related to awarding military personnel in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and other individuals performing their duty in the special military operation, who display courage, fortitude and heroism, the will for victory and loyalty to their Motherland and combat duty.

The Executive Order grants unit commanders the right to present awards to the military personnel of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and other individuals who distinguish themselves during the special military operation, on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation and under a special procedure. The awards are as follows: the Order of Courage; the insignia of the Order of St. George – St George’s Cross, Fourth Class; the medal For Bravery and the medal For Saving the Dying.

Under the Executive Order, the above Russian Federation state awards will be presented in the areas of hostility.

The Defence Ministry was instructed to determine the procedure for presenting the state awards listed in the Executive Order.
