Vladimir Putin will chair a meeting of the Presidential Council for Interethnic Relations on July 3. The meeting will examine the role of culture and education in strengthening unity and harmony and in civic and patriotic education for young people.
In particular, the meeting participants will look at state youth policy, Russian language study, raising literacy and linguistic skills, and historical education.
The Presidential Council for Interethnic Relations was established in 2012 to improve state policy in this area. Its members include leaders of national ethnic community organisations, academics and experts, and the heads of federal legislative and executive bodies.
