Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Magomedsalam Magomedov visited the Terra Scientia on Klyazma River Russian Educational Youth Forum and took part in a panel discussion Multi-Ethnicity as a National Development Resource, organised by the current, fourth session, Young Specialists in Interethnic Relations.
Mr Magomedov offered a systemic overview of implementation of Russia’s ethnic policy, presented results from sociological studies reflecting positive changes in interethnic relations, and noted Russia’s unique experience in consolidating interethnic harmony.
“Russia’s Strategy for State Ethnic Policy until 2025 reflects a sort of formula for interethnic harmony in modern Russia,” Mr Magomedov said. “This is also the practical formula for all state institutions’ and civil society institutions’ work. It strengthens our country’s unity on the basis of preserving and developing the ethno-cultural uniqueness of Russia’s peoples,” Mr Magomedov said.
At the panel discussion, Mr Magomedov and Director of the Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs Igor Barinov answered a broad range of questions from forum participants on issues such as enhancing the laws, training specialists in the field of interethnic relations, developing a sense of general civic patriotism, and preventing extremism and discrimination on ethnic and religious grounds.
The current session, Young Specialists in Interethnic Relations, at the Terra Scientia on Klyazma River Russian Educational Youth Forum was organised by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs and the Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs. More than 800 people from 72 Russian regions and 15 foreign countries are taking part. They will come up together with around 30 projects in interethnic relations to recommend for grants through the National Competition of Youth Projects.
