Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Magomedsalam Magomedov chaired a meeting of the Presidential Council for Interethnic Relations Presidium held to review the results of the council’s performance in 2023.
Magomedsalam Magomedov emphasised the importance of continuing efforts to enhance civil accord and unity among Russia’s multinational people, to strengthen the responsibility of all branches and levels of authority and public institutions and their attention to interethnic peace and accord, and to prevent any manifestations of discrimination and extremism based on ethnicity and religion.
The participants heard a report by the Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs on the implementation of the council’s resolutions and instructions of the head of state and discussed current issues related to state ethnic policy as part of preparations for the council’s next meeting in 2024.
Chair of the All-Russian Public Organisation Assembly of the Peoples of Russia – leader of the United Russia party in the State Duma Vladimir Vasilyev briefed the Presidium members on the assembly’s performance in 2023 and plans for 2024.
Relevant decisions were taken following the meeting.
