Dmitry Medvedev submitted to the State Duma draft federal law On Amendments to the Federal Law on Political Parties.
The draft federal law is aimed at liberalising the requirements to the formation and activities of political parties.
In particular, the amendments concern the number of party regional offices and the number of party members, as well as the representation of delegates at a founding congress.
The new requirements will go into effect on January 1, 2013.
