Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law On Amendments to Part I of the Civil Code and to Federal Law On Political Parties.
The law introduces amendments aimed at excluding the possibility of establishing political parties by means of national public organisations and movements reorganising themselves as parties.
The law also places public movements registered as legal entities in a separate organisational and legal category and clarifies the legal provisions regulating the civil law status of political parties and public movements.
