Vladimir Putin sent a message of greetings to the participants in the Global Challenges of the XXI century: Interparty Dimension conference, which is timed to the 20th anniversary of the United Russia political party.
The message reads, in part:
“Cooperation of political parties is an important component of international relations. Representatives of political organisations of different states are playing an active role in resolving current issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation in different areas and searching for ways of countering current threats and challenges.
From the first days of its existence, United Russia has been paying much attention to developing cooperation with foreign partners. By now, it has established open and meaningful dialogue with the leading parties of many European, Asian, African and Latin American countries. This is graphically confirmed by a representative line-up of the participants in the current conference.
You are about to discuss important international and regional problems and exchange views on party development and parliamentary activities. I hope your discussions will be meaningful and constructive and will promote understanding and trust between our countries and people.”
