Dmitry Medvedev signed Federal Law On Free Legal Aid in the Russian Federation.
The federal law establishes the basic guarantees of Russian citizens’ rights to receive free qualified legal aid in Russia and the organisational and legal basis for the formation of state and non-state systems of legal aid.
The federal law defines the categories of citizens eligible to receive free legal aid under the state system of legal aid, as well as instances of such aid.
Amendments have been introduced to certain legislative acts following the adoption of the law on free legal aid.
