Dmitry Medvedev ordered to establish a working group to draft and present to the UN Human Rights Council Russia’s second national report.
In accordance with the order, the working group’s members will include representatives of the Justice Ministry, Foreign Ministry, Interior Ministry, Defence Ministry, Healthcare and Social Development Ministry, Telecommunications and Media Ministry, Education and Science Ministry, Regional Development Ministry, Federal Migration Service, Federal Penitentiary Service, Constitutional Court, Supreme Court, Higher Arbitration Court, Investigative Committee, Prosecutor General’s Office, Central Election Commission, Human Rights Ombudsman, Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights, and the Civic Chamber.
The Justice Ministry has one month in which to approve the working group’s membership with the heads of the above-listed state agencies and the Civic Chamber.
The first report On the Human Rights Situation in Various Countries was published by the Russian Foreign Ministry on December 28, 2011.
