Vladimir Putin sent a message of greetings to the participants and guests of the Spring and Labour Day celebrations held by the Federation of Independent Trade Unions.
The message reads, in part:
“Our country has long-standing and rich traditions when it comes to May 1 celebrations, based on our dedication to creative work and the respect we have for professional achievements by both individual specialists and teams. Today, we must recognise and thank all those who have been making a personal contribution to developing the state and its society, strengthening our economy, manufacturing and the social sector.
Of course, the Federation of Independent Trade Unions plays a special role in these efforts as the Russia’s largest trade union. It serves as a voice for over 20 million people and has a responsible mission as a contributor to improving labour laws and social partnership mechanisms, as well as addressing matters which have a direct bearing on enabling people to live better lives.”
