Dmitry Medvedev congratulated Russia’s Buddhists on the holiday of Sagaalgan – the Lunar New Year.
The message reads, in part:
“The values of Buddhism and the centuries-old traditions of the peoples who practice it are an inherent aspect of the culture and history of our nation.
Today Russian Buddhists are carefully maintaining the heritage of their forefathers, attentive to the spiritual and physical health of the younger generations. All this serves to strengthen mutual understanding among various ethnicities and denominations.”
