Vladimir Putin extended Passover greetings to all Jews of Russia.
The message reads, in part:
“Passover reminds us of one of the most significant milestones in the history of the Jewish people – liberation from age-long slavery and the acquisition of the ten commandments. It turns believers towards spiritual and moral values, ideals of freedom, goodness and justice that have eternal meaning for humanity.
Russia’s Jewish community makes an enormous contribution to strengthening interethnic and inter-faith dialogue in this country, as well as trust and understanding between people. It helps maintain civic peace and accord in society and takes an active part in educating the younger generation and in acts of mercy and charity.”
