Vladimir Putin congratulated Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill on the anniversary of his enthronement.
The President wished the Patriarch all the best, good health and success, and presented him with an engraving depicting views of Smolensk, the city where Patriarch Kirill was formerly an archbishop and later metropolitan.
Patriarch Kirill was enthroned as head of the Russian Orthodox Church on February 1, 2009. The Church traditionally celebrates the anniversary of the Patriarch’s enthronement.
