Greetings to the XVI World Russian People’s Council

October 1, 2012

Vladimir Putin sent his greetings to participants and guests of the XVI World Russian People’s Council – Frontiers of History, Frontiers of Russia.

The message reads, in part:

“Your traditional forum has always been known for its prestigious participants, rich agenda, and substantial and occasionally charged discussions. Today, under the arches of the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, it has once again brought together representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church, other traditional religions, the heads of government agencies, scientists and public figures.

The theme of this forum is directly related to the history of our country, its most important dates and milestones, whose anniversary we are celebrating this year. I am certain that your extensive life experience, wisdom and appraisals will serve this great and significant cause – preserving our rich historical and cultural heritage, engaging in widespread public education and strengthening our timeless spiritual, moral and family values.”

The XVI World Russian People’s Council is being held on October 1 and 2, 2012 in Moscow under the chairmanship of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.
