The President signed the Federal Law On Amendments to Article 153 of the Federal Law On Information, Information Technology and Information Protection and Article 16 of the Federal Law On Freedom of Conscience and Religious Associations.
The Federal Law stipulates restricting access to information disseminated in violation of the law and advocating the financing of the opponent in an armed conflict, military action, counter-terrorism operation or other actions using weapons and military equipment, in which the Russian Federation is involved, as well as to information about possible ways of providing such financing.
In addition, the Federal Law establishes that information disseminated in violation of the law also includes information about the collection of donations associated with religious rites and ceremonies, carried out by centralised religious organisations and religious organisations included in their structure, in violation of the Federal Law On Freedom of Conscience and Religious Associations.
