Greetings to 13th World Russian Press Congress

June 15, 2011

Dmitry Medvedev sent greetings to participants and guests at the 13th World Russian Press Congress.

The telegram reads, in part:

“Your traditional meetings are not just an important event for the global media community, but also a good opportunity to strengthen professional ties and share experience. You will be discussing joint projects in broadening the Russian-language information space and supporting compatriots abroad.

This congress is taking place in the 70th year since the start of the Great Patriotic War. I therefore feel the initiative by the International Association of Russian Press to create a database on the history of the Second World War is very useful. This is particularly relevant today, when we are coming up against attempts to revise the outcomes of the war.”

The 13th World Russian Press Congress has opened in Kiev bringing together approximately 300 media representatives from 61 nations.
