Vladimir Putin congratulated the staff of the Zvezda (Star) television channel on its 10th anniversary.
The message reads, in part:
“Over the years, the channel has gained significant experience and has become one of the recognised leaders in Russian television. I am confident that Zvezda’s consistently increasing popularity results from the coherent creative work by your talented team, attention and respect towards your audience, and a sincere desire to ensure that all programmes meet the highest possible professional standards. And, of course, viewers are particularly interested in the wonderful feature films and documentaries that narrate the heroic pages of our history.
This multifaceted work is very important today. It helps promote our rich cultural and spiritual heritage, teaching the young generation the foundations of the timeless values of patriotism and civic consciousness.”
